Lithuania’s Foreign Minister awarded Diplomacy Star to Japanese Ambassador

Vilnius, 01 October 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Republic of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis awarded ”Lithuania’s Diplomacy Star” to Japanese Ambassador to Lithuania, Shiro Yamasaki.

This award is bestowed upon diplomats for their personal effort to increase cooperation and understanding between their countries and Lithuania. The foreign Minister of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, officially appreciated the personal efforts of the Japanese ambassador. He stated that the ambassador has “widened the horizons” of strategic partnership with Japan.

The trade between Lithuania and Japan is developing due to these efforts. The exports from Japan to Lithuania is at 6 Billion Yen while Lithuanian exports to Japan are at 58 billion yen.

Shiro Yamasaki has been accredited with removing the import barriers in Japan with regards to Lithuanian goods. The two countries have also been closely cooperating throughout the pandemic. Japanese ambassador thanked the Foreign Minister for his recognition and pledged to make more efforts to build the bilateral relationship.
