Beijing, 3 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese president Mr. Xi Jinping addresses the opening of the plenary session of the sixth Eastern Economic Forum on Friday via video link. The forum takes place under Russian stewardship every year since 2015 to promote multilateralism and economic cooperation in Asia-Pacific.
President Xi stressed promoting a true trade cooperation framework based on trust to make it a win-win situation for the member countries to help intensify and reinforce a shared triumphant future for mankind. As always, he also emphasized fortifying digitalization and contemporary measures in technology to embrace sustainability and build harmony through dialogue.
Emphasis was also placed on strengthening climate action with collective measurements through platforms such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union.
