Islamabad, 8 March 2023 (TDI): Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI) organized a prestigious award ceremony on the occasion of International Women’s Day to recognize and acknowledge the services of women leaders breaking the glass ceiling in various walks of lives.

The event was organized at the premises of the Chamber where participants were women traders and business enterprise owners from various walks of life.

The chief guest of the ceremony was Dilsad Senol, Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. While Syeda Wajida Saleem, the Acting President of the Chamber welcomed all the award achievers and congratulated them for their outstanding work in building societies and communities.

Sania Hameed Pasha, Assistant Commissioner, Nahl Hafeez, Assistant Commissioner Potohar, Sidra Anwar, Deputy Director Land, Asiya Nasir former MNA were present on the occasion.

The session was moderated by Farhat Asif, Chairperson of the Women Entrepreneurship Committee of ICSTSI.

Likewise, Dr. Rubina Bhatti as well as Dr. Tahira Shahid, Dr. Barira Bukhari, Dr. Suboha, Zartasha Niazi, Shagufta Shah, and other women associated with other fields including commerce, textile, and nursing, participated in the event in large numbers.

ICSTSI thanked all the participants for attending the event on International Women’s Day. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held. Gifts were distributed among the female participants at the end.

Every year on March 8th, International Women’s Day is observed. It is a day to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements around the world, as well as to raise awareness about the ongoing fight for gender equality.

The Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI) is an organization of commerce in Pakistan that represents small traders and small industries. It represents the interests of all Islamabad shops, marketplaces, and enterprises.
