Beijing (TDI): In wake of the US technology giant seeking to shore up slumping sales in a crucial overseas market, Tim Cook, Apple CEO, Tuesday posted on social media that he visited China two times this year.
The iPhone maker sales affected in China due to domestic rivals in recent years and also the country faces reduced economic growth due to global economic situation affecting consumption though the brand still popular among Chinese consumers.
According to Cook, in China he even met with Chinese university students using Apple products to boost sustainable farming practices.

Separately, in a video uploaded to his official page, Cook accompanied fashion photographer Chen Man on a walk through a historic quarter of the Chinese capital, according to AFP.
“It’s great to be back in Beijing,” Cook wrote.
AFP reported that ‘Apple’ reported a $21.4 billion profit in the three months ending in June, on $85.8 billion in revenue over the period. The revenue was a five per cent jump from a year ago, it added.
Yet, Huawei, real competitor of the iPhone in China has definitely affected its sales in the country. Huawei is a homegrown technology and popular in China and the regional countries.

The report said that the company was only the sixth-biggest smartphone vendor in China in the second quarter, down from the third biggest in the equivalent period last year, according to data by Canalys, a market analysis firm.
Cook visited China for second time in March, when he opened another Apple store in Shanghai and also attended a debate in Beijing alongside other executives and CEOs.
