Beijing, 9 September 2021(TDI): Wang Yi had a meeting with his Laos counterpart, Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, through a video link on Thursday. Chinese foreign minister extended warm felicitations to Saleumxay on completing 60 years of diplomatic friendship between the two states.
Wang mentioned that the Laos-China railway is about to complete and this would improve trade and cooperation between the two countries. Besides this, it will provide the people with new opportunities in infrastructure development and economic welfare.
The growth of the bilateral trade has shown substantial figures in the past few years which plays a role in promoting a shared future and diplomatic closeness between Laos and China. Wang added that he wishes the present generation to help keep promoting this Laos-China friendship to the future generations as well.
Lao’s Foreign Minister, Saleumxay stressed the preparedness of his country to work in coordination with China, which will continue constructing a better future for both of the states.
