New Delhi, 25 March 2022 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister met his Indian counterpart, the Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar today in New Delhi.
The two counterparts held an official meeting with officials from both sides. Talks have concluded between the two now and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will be addressing the media shortly.

Earlier the Indian Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar shared the news on his official Twitter handle and greeted the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at Hyderabad House.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi made a surprise stopover in New Delhi, India after visiting Afghanistan, earlier. He landed at the New Delhi Airport.

Wang Yi arrived in India on Thursday evening. This is the first Chinese minister-level visit in two years ever since bilateral ties between India and China became strained subsequent to military clashes in 2020.
According to an Indian News Agency, the Chinese Foreign Minister is expected to meet the National Security Advisor of India, Ajit Doval as well, today.

The stopover in India is part of Wang Yi’s visit to South Asian countries. Along these lines, the Chinese Minister also visited Afghanistan yesterday.
In addition, the Chinese Foreign Minister also visited Pakistan for three days during which he attended the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC in Pakistan as well as the Pakistan Day parade.
