Hanoi, 18 November 2021 (TDI): Vietnam’s national flag carrier Airline will begin to fly to the U.S. directly from 28 November. Vietnamese Airlines received foreign air operation certificate on Tuesday, 16 November 2021.
The certificate was issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Vietnam Airline becomes the first Airline that received such a certification to fly direct to the U.S.
The Airline shared the schedule of the First direct flight from Vietnam to the U.S. The flight will depart from Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of November 28. It will arrive on November 28, in San Francisco with a journey of 13 hours and 50 minutes.

The return flight will take time of 16 hours and 40 minutes from San Francisco on the evening of November 29 to reach Ho Chi Minh City on December 1. The details about the flights were shared by the CEO of Viet Nam Airline Le Hong Ha.
Initially, in December 2021 they will fly twice a week while they will increase the number of flights as the situation of pandemic gets stable.
Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350 to fly to the US
Vietnam will use wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350 for a direct flight to the United States.
Earlier last year, Bamboo Airways received certification from the U.S. Department of Transportation to travel from Vietnam to the U.S.
Such a development on account of the opening of direct flights between Vietnam and the U.S. will enhance the comprehensive partnership between the two states.
Previously, Vietnam’s national flag carrier was allowed to fly to different cities of the U.S. from Hanoi. The cities include Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Washington, and Texas.
While Vietnam and US signed the air transport agreement in 2003. Moreover, the agreement allows the national flag Carrier of Vietnam to fly directly between the two countries.
