Vietnam decides to resume flights from 2022

Last year, the country had shut its frontiers for foreign nationals in march. Only Vietnamese nationals, foreign experts, investors, and highly-skilled workers were allowed to enter the country.

Vietnam Airlines is the flag carrier of Vietnam. The airline was founded in 1956 and later established as a state-owned enterprise in April 1989.

Hanoi, 14 November 2021 (TDI): Vietnamese Government will resume Air Flights from January 2022.

The announcement came on Friday as the government officials decided to restart regular international passenger flights operation on a pilot basis.

The purpose to resume operation is to achieve economic recovery after the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh also hosted a meeting on Friday to underline necessary arrangements for the resumption of regular international passenger flights.

The plan to resume flights will begin from highly safe countries such as Beijing/Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taiwan, Bangkok (Thailand), and Singapore Accordingly. Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and other territories such as San Francisco/Los Angeles (the United States) are also a part of the list of territories hosting flights from Vietnam initially.

Earlier the Health Ministry received guidelines from the government to issue Covid19 regulations for preventive measures.

So far, Vietnam has administered 130,935,854 doses have been administered nationwide. While the country acquired more than 150 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Recognition of Vaccine Passport

Vietnam government has approved the vaccine passports on Friday. The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang announced on Thursday that other 78 states issued passports across the world.

Mr. Le also added that the government had proactively discussed building consensus with 80 foreign partners on mutual vaccine passport recognition.

The updated list of the countries following the vaccine passport will contain Canada, Zimbabwe, Maldives, Iraq, South Africa, and Iran.

Vietnamese agencies through the proper mechanism and earlier developed software solutions issued a vaccine passport accordingly. Furthermore, Vietnam’s vaccine passport is in line with international standards.

Earlier in December, Japan, the US, Australia, and Belarus recognized vaccination papers proposed by Vietnam.

While other states such as ASEAN nations, the EU, China, and the Republic of Korea condoned the Vietnamese proposal. They are in connection and waiting for Vietnam to respond with a unified vaccine passport. The countries also demanded from Vietnam to provide an electronic confirmation mechanism for the passports.
