Hanoi, 10 December 2021 (TDI): Vietnam government approved the vaccine passports today. The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Le Thi Thu Hang announced on Thursday that the passports are issued by the other 78 states around the world.

Le Thi Thu Hang also added that the government had proactively discussed building consensus with 80 foreign partners on mutual vaccine passport recognition.

The updated list of the countries following the vaccine passport will contain Canada, Zimbabwe, Maldives, Iraq, South Africa, and Iran.

Vietnamese agencies through the proper mechanism and earlier developed software solutions issued a vaccine passport accordingly. Vietnam’s vaccine passport is in line with international standards.

Earlier in December, the vaccination papers by Vietnam were recognized by Japan, the U.S., Australia, and Belarus. While other states such as ASEAN nations, the EU, China, and the Republic of Korea condoned the Vietnamese proposal.

They are in connection and waiting for Vietnam to respond with a unified vaccine passport. The countries also demanded from Vietnam to provide an electronic confirmation mechanism for the passports.

In addition, the government spokesperson told the press that the country has repatriated over 200,000 people from more than 60 countries across the world.

They are in touch with the other relevant sectors, and localities to initiate further flights. It will help them repatriate more people from different countries on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival.

Resuming Flights

Earlier Vietnam’s Transport ministry suggested repatriating flights operations Internationally. The ministry thought to open routes for international flights from December 15.

Early on, they think to open nine routes to operate air traffic inside and outside of Vietnam. The Ministry suggested his government open routes between Viet Nam and Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore, and Vientiane. They will also open flights to San Francisco or Los Angeles United States.

Vietnamese Transport Ministry considers these countries’ most major markets with a high number of investors, experts, and technical workers. They explained that the people wish to travel to such routes to explore investment.
