Hanoi, 13 September 2021 (TDI): The Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman, Vuong Dinh Hue has successfully completed his Europe trip in a bid to promote parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation with European partners.
The Chairman attended the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament and visited the European Parliament.
Ten meetings were held with partners from Russia, the Republic of Korea, Cuba, Chile, the UK, India, and Mozambique on the sidelines to discuss economic recovery in relation to the pandemic.
A significant portion of the trip was dedicated to vaccine diplomacy. The European Council President agreed to donate 500 million vaccines doses to ASEAN countries. Belgium and Slovakia also promised 200,000 vaccine doses. Other agreements regarding vaccine and medical equipment, research, and future cooperation were made.
