June 10, 2021 (TDI): The president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev officially visited Tajikistan. The president of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon received him at Dushanbe International Airport. In the meeting with the Tajik President, Emomali Rahmon, he exchanged his views on the full scope of their strategic partnership. The multidimensional bilateral cooperation was a topic of discussion between them. Both presidents expressed adamant dedication, commitment and willingness to take essential measures to enhance their strategic partnership.
In the meeting, they pressed a symbolic button to officially open the social facilities, established in Samarkand and Khatlon regions. Signing of a Joint Statement by both the presidents, is a highlight of this meeting. After the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a statement to the press. Promoting regional cooperation among Central Asian states has been a major foreign policy shift that came with the leadership of President Shavkat. This two day official visit is aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties between the two states.
