Beirut, 22 September 2021 (TDI): The United States Embassy in Beirut honored the nine colleagues who lost their lives in the terrorist attack against the Embassy in Beirut that happened on 20 September 1984. The Embassy honored the victims on the 37th anniversary of the attack this Monday.
In the US Embassy in Beirut terrorist attacks, around 60 people were victims, most were the embassy personnel from the regional office of the CIA and members of the US armed forces.
Charge d’Affaires Richard Michaels stated that the United States honors the sacrifices of those who served the embassy and its efforts to build a partnership with the Lebanese people. Michaels also mentions that partnership still exists, despite the hardships and challenges.
