Islamabad, 7 October 2022 (TDI): Donald Blome, the Ambassador of the United States (US) to Pakistan, met with the Federal Minister of Pakistan for Finance and Revenue, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
The meeting took place in the Finance Division. Senator Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister, welcomed the Ambassador and noted that Pakistan and the US have a long-term, broad-based, and multi-dimensional connection.
He also apprised the Ambassador of the devastation caused by Pakistan’s recent floods. The Finance Minister went on to underline the government of Pakistan’s economic plan and initiatives aimed at achieving economic and budgetary stability.
He stated that increasing US foreign investment in various areas of the Pakistani economy is the government’s top objective. Likewise, the current administration is working on building a business-friendly climate for foreign investors.
While, Donald Blome, the US Ambassador, congratulated the Finance Minister on his new position. He also expressed his government’s sorrow for the devastation caused by the floods.
During the meeting, the Ambassador further emphasized that both countries have solid relations and expressed trust in the government’s policies and programs.

Along these lines, he pledged his support for the expansion of bilateral economic, investment, and commercial links between the two countries.
The Finance Minister hailed the US Ambassador and emphasized the current government’s aim to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties with the US.
Following Pakistan’s independence in 1947, the US established diplomatic relations with the country. The two partners have diverse partnerships including in the fields of counterterrorism, energy, trade, and investment.
Aside from that, the US has come forth to help Pakistan amidst the aftermath of the worst floods in the history of the country. In this context, the US has also given aid to flood victims in the impacted regions of the country.
