Washington, 24 November 2023 (TDI): The United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke with foreign ministers of the Middle East including Qatar, the UAE (United Arab Emirates), and Saudi Arabia for an agreement on a peaceful hostage deal in the Gaza Strip.
This peace deal has been mediated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar. Initially, the United States adopted certain CBMS (Confidence-building measures) to normalize the peaceful environment between Israel and Hamas.

During the conversation with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Blinken expressed approval of the agreement to release captives held by Hamas in Gaza and reiterated the significance of addressing the humanitarian needs in Gaza.

In a separate discussion with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, both leaders restated their commitment to preventing an escalation of the conflict, as per the State Department.

The Secretary expressed approval of the recent agreement to release at least 50 hostages and the temporary halt that will expedite the delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza.

However, emphasizing the urgency of addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, preventing the further escalation of the conflict, and fortifying regional stability and security, he reiterated the ongoing commitment of the United States to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Moreover, Secretary Blinken commended Saudi Arabia’s initiatives to secure a lasting peace agreement in Yemen, initiate a Yemeni-Yemeni political dialogue under UN auspices, and ensure the focus of Yemeni actors on these peace efforts.

In this regard, Secretary Blinken stressed on two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. In addition, he ensured the significance of the strategic relationship between the USA and Qatar.
