US and India forge further collaboration on economic opportunities. In this context, the US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with the External Affairs Minister of India, S. Jaishankar, at the Joint Press Conference at the G7 Summit.

US-India Relations

Meanwhile, India and USA share a close relationship based on democratic ideals, human rights, and the rule of law.

The United States and India have a common interest in advancing international security, stability, and economic success through commerce, investment, and connectivity.

Furthermore, US’ support for India’s rise as a global force forges both nations’ mutual interests.

Indo-Pacific Theatre of Cooperation

The Government of President Biden introduced the Indo-Pacific strategy earlier this year in February. The US aims for a free and open Indo-Pacific that is more connected, prosperous, secure, and resilient.

According to this strategy, the US recognizes India as a like-minded partner and a leader in South Asia and the Indian Ocean.

The USA also acknowledges India’s position as a driving force behind the QUAD alliance. For this purpose, it aims to advance its strategic partnership regarding security, prosperity, and clean energy.

Quad Framework

To elaborate, the Indian Minister stated that India-Pacific is facing diverse challenges to growth, stability, and prosperity.

For this purpose, US and India are connected on maritime security, connectivity on infrastructure, and HADR.

In addition, both countries are taking steps to counter-terrorism, address cuber and digital concerns, climate action, education, resilient growth, and supply chain management.

G7 Summit

In the meantime, the 48th G7 Summit took place in Germany’s Bavarian Alps. Also, it brought leaders from seven of the world’s wealthiest countries to a single platform to discuss the world’s most pressing issues like economic crisis, supply chain, and food security.

In a recent meeting, both the officials discussed the pertinent issues concerning the problems faced by the global economy and plans to resolve that.

Apart from that, the Indo-Pacific theatre also addresses the worldwide shift towards the Asian region. Secretary Blinken discussed areas of advanced security, prosperity, and clean energy in the Indo-Pacific, with Jaishankar.
