US Envoy Praises Pakistan’s Craftsmanship at Lok Virsa Festival

Islamabad (TDI): Lok Virsa Mela 2025 continued its successful run on Day 4, drawing an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 visitors, including families, students, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts on Tuesday.

A major highlight of the day was the visit of US Chargé d’Affaires Natalia A. Baker, who toured artisan stalls and met folk craftsmen and performers. She lauded the diversity of Pakistan’s craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

Executive Director Lok Virsa, Dr. Muhammad Waqas Saleem, accompanied the diplomat and briefed her on the cultural exhibits, artisan traditions, and the significance of Lok Mela as Pakistan’s largest folk festival.

The day concluded with the Lok Virsa Cultural Fusion Night at the Open-Air Theatre. Folk artists from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir presented a collaborative program featuring regional rhythms, instruments, and dance traditions. The fusion performance received strong applause and reflected national harmony and cultural unity.

Visitors engaged with artisan stalls, regional food courts, cultural pavilions, live craft demonstrations, storytelling sessions, folk theatre, and children’s activities.

Media personnel, influencers, and cultural bloggers maintained consistent coverage throughout the day. Lok Mela continues until 16 November 2025, open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
