US Embassy Representatives visit Islamabad Vaccination Center

Islamabad, 24 September 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, the U.S. Embassy Islamabad representatives, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Richard Snelsire, and Acting Mission Director of USAID Michael Nehrbass visited a vaccination center in Islamabad. The Government of Pakistan’s Health officials also accompanied them on the visit.

The officials visited the Pakistani vaccination center to observe the utilization of recently arrived 10.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccine donated to Islamabad by the United States. During the visit, the U.S. Embassy’s Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Richard Snelsire stated that the United States government is delivering the vaccines to keep its promise of standing with the people of Pakistan as they make efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. The US embassy representatives also spoke with Pakistani citizens and healthcare workers at the vaccination center regarding their vaccination experiences and stressed the importance of immunization.

The recent donation of around 10.3 million vaccines came as part of the 500 million Pfizer doses the Biden administration purchased this summer to deliver across the world. The effort endorses the United States’ commitment to providing safe and effective vaccines worldwide and leading the global fight against Covid-19.
