Islamabad, 13 March 2023 (TDI): The United States (US) Embassy in Pakistan recently organized the National Women’s Police Conference at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad.

The conference brought together important figures in policing and women’s rights to discuss the theme of “Inspire, Empower, and Transform.”

The United States Institute of Peace and the Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights helped to coordinate the conference, which was funded by the US government.

Furthermore, the US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome highlighted the importance of women’s inclusion in policing and the need for innovative policies to ensure equal access to justice.

Also, he commended the organizers and attendees for their efforts in promoting women’s rights and empowerment and expressed hope that the conference would lead to positive outcomes and tangible results.

In the same vein, Federal Law Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar also affirmed the Pakistani government’s commitment to ensuring access to justice for everyone in Pakistan and the safety of women.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of collaboration between government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the country.

To mention, the National Women Police Conference 2023 is part of a broader effort to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in Pakistan.

The US government, through the Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs, has been working closely with the Government of Pakistan & civil society partners to support initiatives that promote women’s rights and access to justice.
