Washington: July 23, 2021 – (TDI): United States of America announced additional humanitarian assistance of about $155 million for the Iraqi people, regional Iraqi refugees, and their host communities. This funding is provided by the US State Department and USAID (US Agency for International Development), among other funding for humanitarian aid for Iraq. The US has made funding more than $3 billion for humanitarian assistance for Iraqi people, since the Fiscal Year 2014.
The aim of this funding is to cater to the necessary and urgent healthcare, food assistance, shelter, and protection needs of Iraqis displaced by ISIS, amidst the pandemic. The US makes the largest funding in humanitarian aid in Iraq.
