Karachi, 12 August 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of the United States (US) to Pakistan, Donald Blome visited the mausoleum of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Al Jinnah on Thursday.

The Ambassador paid his respects to the father of the Nation ahead of the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day. On behalf of the American Embassy, Ambassador Blome placed a floral wreath at the mausoleum and signed the guest book.

Later, Ambassador Blome paid a visit to the graves of Fatima Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan. He explored the adjacent museum and enjoyed the souvenirs from Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s life.

Ambassador Blome noted in the guestbook,

“It is a great honor to be here at the Mazar-e-Quaid to pay my respects and commemorate the legacy of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The United States shares Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of a Pakistan at peace with itself and its neighbors, a Pakistan of religious tolerance, economic prosperity, and social inclusion.

On behalf of the American people, I offer Pakistan warm congratulations on its 75th Independence Day.”

This year also marks 75 years of bilateral relations between the USA and Pakistan.

Pakistan and US Bilateral Relations

Pakistan and the United States have built a multifaceted and broad-based relationship. Cooperation in a variety of fields energy, trade, investment, military, and education is what propels it.

Shared principles and a common interest in regional and strategic challenges serve as the foundation for this partnership.

The two countries were close strategic partners during the Cold War as fellow members of organizations. Pakistan and the United States worked together to check communist expansionism in the region.

In 1971, Pakistan was critical in facilitating the China-U.S. rapprochement that fundamentally reconfigured the Cold War.

Pakistan and the United States work together in successfully dealing with some of the leading geopolitical challenges of current times. The 21st century offers tremendous economic cooperation potential to bring both countries growth and opportunities.
