Karachi, 14 June 2022 (TDI): The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, paid a visit to Pakistan Stock Exchange Karachi today.
Ambassador Donald Blome was accompanied by a delegation of the US embassy and consulate officials.
The US Ambassador rang the Opening Bell to start the stock exchange’s trading day as a special guest.
During his speech, he reiterated his desire for improvement and strengthening of US-Pakistan relations. He expressed, “Our priority remains to strengthen ties between the two countries.”
Moreover, he also discussed American investment in Pakistan during his talk. He remarked that “We want more American companies to come to Pakistan.
”
The recently appointed Ambassador expressed his pleasure on his first visit to Karachi. “I am in Karachi for the first time and it feels good to be here,” he said.
Previously, US Ambassador Donald Blome proclaimed in a talk with Pakistani media that “I think the best thing we can do going forward is to keep engaging across all levels of Pakistani society, as we have for the past 75 years!”

Donald Blome was appointed as the US Ambassador to Pakistan in March 2022. The US sent an ambassador to Pakistan after four years.
He arrived in Islamabad in May to take charge of his duties at the US Embassy in Islamabad.
David Blome is a career diplomat who previously served as the US Ambassador to Tunisia from 2019 to 2022.
Moreover, he has also worked as the Chargé d’Affaires at the Libya External Office in Tunis, Tunisia.
In addition to working as the Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem.
Furthermore, he has served the State Department as the Director of the Office of Arabian Peninsula Affairs (2013 – 2015).
Ambassador Blome was the Political Counselor in the Kabul embassy from 2012 to 2013.
He has also served in the US embassy in Egypt as the Minister-Counselor for Economic and Political Affairs (2009-2012).
He also served as the Civilian Co-Director, Multinational Force Strategic Engagement Cell, Baghdad, Iraq (2007-2008) and as Political Counselor, Embassy Kuwait (2006-2007).
Pakistan-US Relations
Diplomatic contact between Pakistan and the United States has reached 75 years this year. Establishing relations in 1947, the two countries have a complex and rich bilateral history.
Both countries have developed cooperation and contact at all levels.
Apart from state-to-state ties, both nations have robust economic, social, trade, health, cultural, educational, scientific, inter-parliamentary, and people-to-people ties.
