Karachi, 13 August 2022 (TDI): The US Ambassador to Pakistan, David Blome is on an official trip to Karachi. During his visit to Karachi, he met with the government officials of Sindh and also toured many important places in the city.
Meeting with Chief Minister of Sindh
The Ambassador of the US to Pakistan met with the Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah on Friday. During their meeting, they discussed numerous issues of national and regional dynamics.
The Ambassador of the US also highlighted the issue of ongoing floods while discussing the political and economic issues in Pakistan.
Ambassador David Blome expressed that the people of America fully support Pakistan during these challenging times. He added that the US will remain committed to helping Pakistan recover from this natural catastrophe.
During the meeting, he also announced $1 Million in aid granted by the US government with the help of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Ambassador emphasized that this aid will help Pakistan build the resilience of agricultural communities in Sindh Province and support Pakistan’s disaster management authorities in all provinces.

Consequently, the Chief Minister of Sindh expressed gratitude for the aid that will help address Pakistan’s ability to face natural disasters. Moreover, he thanked the US for always standing by Pakistan’s side during challenging times.

Visit to Port Qasim
The US Ambassador to Pakistan also visited Port Qasim and met with Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Faisal Subzwari, on Saturday. During their meeting, the two sides discussed about possible opportunities for strengthening trade between the two states.

Furthermore, the Ambassador expressed interest in how the US can work with Pakistan to develop more linkages with U.S. port and maritime institutions.
Additionally, the US Ambassador also toured around Excelerate’s floating re-gasification unit at Port Qasim. He met with the crew members there and highlighted their contributions to Pakistan’s energy sector.

Inaugural of StartUp Lab
During his visit to Karachi, Ambassador David also visited the Lincoln Corner Karachi at Liaquat Memorial Library.
He was accompanied by the Provincial Minister of Sindh for education, culture, tourism, antiquities, and archives, Syed Sardar Ali Shah. The two inaugurated the StartUp Lab at Lincoln Center.

The Ambassador spoke at the event and highlighted the importance of the lab. He emphasized that this lab will help entrepreneurs with an idea for a startup business to turn ideas into reality.
Moreover, he announced that this lab will allow free use of the latest technology and equipment. Furthermore, it will promote entrepreneurship and women’s inclusion in economic development.
Ambassador David Blome also celebrated Minorities Day by meeting the religious minority community leaders on Thursday.

Additionally, he also visited Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum in Karachi. While highlighting US support for Pakistan there he congratulated the nation for its upcoming 75th Independence Day.

It is noteworthy that with Pakistan celebrating its 75th independence day, it is also celebrating 75 years of bilateral relations with the US.
The US government has helped Pakistan in becoming a more stable and prosperous nation. It has granted aid of over $32 billion since 2002 to help Pakistan flourish in its different sectors.
