UNDP Pakistan promotes nature positive recovery

Islamabad, 7 October 2021 (TDI): UNDP Pakistan shares words of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam that emphasize nature positive recovery.

He mentioned that there is a better future if humanity reverts. There is a possible natural recovery out there; what we call ‘build back better, said Malik Amin. The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change mentioned that “when we all invest in nature or in climate, it always pays us back. Socially, politically and economically”.

Malik Amin Aslam said that Pakistan has changed its development according to climate change. He also mentioned that in the latest World Bank Report Pakistan is leading the world on Climate Action. Pakistan’s 44% of its mainstream development funding is now climate compatible thru on-ground initiatives like 10 Billion Tree Tsunami.

However, Nature For Life Hub 2021 is an initiative started by UNDP to support nature-based solutions. The solutions that lead to heal our environment and safeguard for the future. This is an initiative to promote the governance of the ecosystem, sustainable use of natural resources, improve livelihood options, and develop an effective response to climate change.
