Helsinki, 7 October 2021(TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, Vincent Biruta met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pekka Haavisto. The meeting was held in Helsinki on Wednesday, during his two days official visit to Finland.
The ministers discussed bilateral relations, regional issues and multilateral cooperation between Finland and Rwanda. They have deepened economic ties by signing a memorandum of understanding on trade and investment.

Minister Vincent Biruta also had a meeting with Maria Ohisalo, the Minister of Interior of Finland. They discussed matters of mutual interest, such as migratory flows, between Finland and Rwanda.
Diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Finland established on 1 June 1983.
Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said at another occasion that Rwanda is a key partner for Finland in Africa in the battle against climate change. Our circular economy collaboration is progressing. Rwanda and Finland keep working together in the future. There are many chances in the private sector that serve these goals.
