Geneva, 13 September 2021 (TDI): On Monday, 13th-September 2021 High-level Ministerial Meeting on the Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan will take place. The meeting will occur in the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This meeting will happen in a hybrid format.
Secretary-General of UN Antonio Guterres will convene the meeting. David Beasley, Executive Director for the UN World Food Program with UN Relief Chief Martin Griffiths, will also be present in the meeting.
The meeting will also ensure the presence of UNICEF Executive Chief Henrietta H. Fore, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer & UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem.
To address the uncertain humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan United Nations is persistent to protect and aid the people in need. Women’s rights, security, and education will also be addressed in the meeting.
To ensure its implementation Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will be convening the High-level Ministerial Meeting on the Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan.
He, Secretary-General Guterres calls the humanitarian partners for the united leadership to help Afghanistan in this time of crisis.
