Kabul, 24 August 2021 (TDI): Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov, the UN Secretary General’s Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Afghanistan held a meeting along with UNICEF Representative for Afghanistan with the Taliban Education Commissioner in Kabul.
The significance of education was stressed during the meeting. Education is considered an element that can play an important role in the real change in Afghan youth. UN deeply expressed its commitment towards the effort to support education for Afghan youth. Both girls and boys are entitled to get an education. It was seen before that UNICEF is working hard to assist and support Afghan children. Many children still need essential services like food, water, sanitation, and lifesaving vaccination drives. It was tried hard to support Afghan children in the educational sector.
It was urged to the Taliban to ensure the protection and safety of Afghan children pursuing education.
