New South Wales, 24 August 2021 (TDI): Amidst the global crisis, the 5th Philippines-Australia Ministerial Meeting (PAMM) was held virtually on 23 August. Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister for Women, Senator Marise Payne, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Dan Tehan MP, Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Teodoro Locsin Jr, and Secretary of Trade and Industry, Ramon Lopez discussed opportunities for further cooperation.
In particular, Wannon, Locsin, Lopez, and Payne discuss Australia’s partnership with the Philippines. The bilateral relationship of both countries is deep and enduring as both continue to strengthen cooperation and partner for COVID recovery. As such, the delivery of 100 oxygen concentrators.
Apart from this, high-level meetings include the biennial Strategic Dialogue with Foreign and Defence ministries; the Trade, Industry and Investment Dialogue; and the annual Bilateral Consultations on Counter-Terrorism. These are complemented by annual joint defense cooperation consultations, an agriculture forum, and high-level consultations on development cooperation.
