UN focuses on Volatile Syria Amid Hopelessness

Damascus(TDI) : The United Nations has ramped up its humanitarian efforts in war-torn Syria, with its agencies maintaining  a strong presence in conflict zones across the  country, despite escalating challenges, local reports suggested on Monday.

A day earlier the United Nations rebuffed rumors suggesting that it is evacuating all staff from Syria.

“The United Nations remains steadfast in its commitment to stay and deliver life-saving assistance to the people of Syria during this critical time,” an official statement read.

Several reports said that the top officials in the UN has issued special instructions for taking right steps for peace and stability in the country as well.

Pledging all-out support for Damascus and peace in the country, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Yesterday said  that after 14 years of brutal war and the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, the people of Syria can now seize an historic opportunity to build a stable and peaceful future.
