Kabul, 31 August 2021 (TDI): The UN committees on “Elimination and Discrimination of women” and “Rights of the Child” reminded the Taliban of their promise.
The committees urged Taliban to respect their promise of protecting women and children of Afghanistan. The Committees further highlighted the human rights written in the Conventions on the “Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women” and on the “Rights of the Child” that the Taliban should behold.
Both Committees call on those in charge of operations in Afghanistan to uphold the fundamental principles of international human rights and humanitarian law.
