Pakistan’s Consistent Efforts Against Islamophobia
Pakistan raised its voice regarding Islamophobia on multiple platforms.
PM @ImranKhanPTI was the first Muslim leader to raise issue of #Islamophobia at the @UN in his first address to #UNGA in 2019.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan underlined the issue multiple times globally. He stressed time after time how Muslims across the globe have been subject to discrimination. The discrimination has been both overt and covert in nature.
From talking at the United Nations to talking with heads of states such as those of Canada, Russia, etc the Prime Minister remained consistent in his efforts. He stressed the need for the Western Governments to understand why the issue is serious.
As far as talking to the Muslim States is concerned, Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote letters to the Leaders of the Muslim world. This was done to take these leaders on board. Such was the effort at various forums.
Then in the year, 2020 Pakistan’s resolution was adopted by OIC at the 47th CFM in Niamey, capital of Niger.
In the resolution, Pakistan on behalf of OIC member states proposed that 15th March must be observed as ‘International Day to Combat Islamophobia’.
Today this same resolution was unanimously adopted at the United Nations General Assembly.
This adoption is indeed the result of consistent efforts that Pakistan has been putting in for the cause. In addition to that, the combined efforts of the leaders of the other Muslim States and the acknowledgment by the West are truly appreciated.
All of this combined commitment and efforts made this possible that finally March 15 is the “International Day to Combat Islamophobia”.
