Islamabad, 24 August 2024 (TDI): The UK’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has declared that as part of the country’s transition to a digital immigration system, the UK will be streamlining the visa application process for Pakistanis visiting the UK.
The British High Commission in Islamabad stated that the UK has expanded its e-Visa services to include additional biometric users, enabling applicants to check their immigration status online.
To use the e-Visa system, visitors will need to have an online account with UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration), but they are not needed to register one.
The statement added, “The immigration system in the United Kingdom is moving towards digitalization. An online immigration status will take the place of paper documents.”
A UKVI account would not be required for anybody who were given a UK visa for a period of less than six months, including those who were visiting the country, according to the statement.

The high commissioner stated, “This new use of technology will simplify a crucial aspect of the visa application process, increase its security, and lessen its reliance on paper documents.”
She continued by saying that it is a simple, safe, and free procedure that gives travelers a more effective approach to manage their immigration status.
In an effort to improve security and applicant convenience, the UK is modernizing its immigration system, and this program replaces paper-based documentation with an online status statement.
