Kampala, 9 September 2021 (TDI): Uganda Receive 647,000 COVID-19 Vaccines during this week. The supplies reached to Uganda by UNICEF Supply Division.
The COVID-19 Vaccines were donated to Uganda by the USA through the initiative of Vaccines Global Access (COVAX).
United States is one of the major contributors in the Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) ensuring uniform supply all over the world.
US government unwavering support for COVAX and vaccine donation to Uganda is one of many steps for equitable access to all, wrote UNICEF SD on its official Twitter account.
Gavi along with Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and World Health Organization (WHO) took the initiative of COVAX. It ensures evenhanded access to COVID-19 vaccines all over the world.
COVAX and its allies requested the donors and producers for their support. In a joint statement, they mentioned recommitting for the provision of vaccines to the countries in need.
