Abu Dhabi/ Washington, 10 July 2022 (TDI): the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States of America (USA) congratulated the Republic of Ecuador on the 213th anniversary of its independence.

President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan congratulated Ecuador’s President, Santiago Lasso on the Independence day of his country.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, ruler of Dubai also congratulated the President of Ecuador on the auspicious occasion.

In a press statement issued by the US Department of State, Antony Blinken the Secretary of State congratulated and expressed wishes on the 213th anniversary of Ecuador’s independence.

Antony Blinken reiterated that the US will stand with Ecuador. Further, he expressed hope to enhance relations between the two countries in the coming years.

Furthermore, the Secretary of State also reminded that Washington and Quito have worked together to strengthen regional security and promote economic development.

“During my October 2021 visit to Quito, I witnessed firsthand the ingenuity of Ecuadorian entrepreneurs and the commitment of the Ecuadorian people to defend human rights and fight corruption.” Antony Blinken praised the Ecuadorian People.

In addition, he also acclaimed Ecuador’s leadership for hosting hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees, seeking a safe and better life.

Moreover, the United States applauded Ecuador’s contribution to tackling climate change. Besides, Antony Blinken extended his best wishes to the people of Ecuador.

Ecuador’s Independence Day

On Wednesday 10 August, Ecuador commemorates its 213th year of independence from Spain. The territory was colonized by Spain in the sixteenth century.

After nearly three hundred of Spanish rule, the people were the first to rebel against the colonizers and declare independence on 10 August 1809.

On this day, many cities of Ecuador host parades, cultural festivals, and concerts. Furthermore, Ecuador is a country in Latin America and its capital is Quito.

Spanish is the official language and a language of the majority of people. Likewise, Ecuador is also a founding member of the United Nations.
