UAE strongly condemns terrorist attack in Karachi

Islamabad (TDI): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack near Karachi Airport claiming lives of two Chinese nationals and one Pakistani citizen.

In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reiterated its firm stance against all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten peace, security, and stability, and violate international law.

UAE also expressed its unequivocal condemnation of the heinous act that claimed lives and injured several other in the Metropolitan city of Pakistan.

The ministry on behalf of UAE extended heartfelt condolences to the governments and people of Pakistan and China, as well as to the families of the victims.

It also wished for a swift recovery to those injured in the tragic incident.

Two Chinese engineers have been killed and over 10 people injured in a suspected suicide attack near Karachi airport on Sunday late night.

The Chinese embassy in Pakistan said the explosion on Sunday night was a terrorist assault that targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers working on a power project.

The proscribed organization, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistani officials strongly reacted to the attack saying the attackers and facilitators would not be spared. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also vowed to fully secure Chinese working on various projects in the country.
