Mexico City (TDI): The United Arab Emirates and Mexico have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations as Salem Al Owais formally presented his credentials as the UAE Ambassador to the United Mexican States.
According to the official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs UAE, the official ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Mexico City.
During the meeting, Salem Al Owais conveyed the greetings of UAE leadership, including Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court.
Salem Al Owais presented his credentials to the President of Mexico on March 24, 2025 as a part of a formal diplomatic procedure to start his duties in the host country.

While he had already submitted copies of his credentials to the Mexican Foreign Ministry on September 5, 2024, the final step in his official recognition as the UAE Ambassador to Mexico was presenting them directly to President Claudia Sheinbaum.
He expressed the UAE’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Mexico across various sectors.
The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbum Pardo, extended her best wishes to the UAE leadership and emphasized Mexico’s dedication to further enhancing diplomatic and economic collaboration with the UAE.
President Pardo also assured full support to the UAE Ambassador and his mission, to enhance ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Salem Rashid Al Owais highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering robust partnerships with Mexico in key development areas such as trade, security, food, technology, investment, renewable energy, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Both sides acknowledged the growing economic and diplomatic ties between their countries while further exploring ways to expand cooperation and achieve mutual benefits.
The UAE and Mexico have fostered strong and dynamic bilateral relations over the years, underpinned by shared economic interests, strategic cooperation, and diplomatic engagement.
Both countries have strengthened their ties through trade, investment, cultural exchange, and multilateral collaboration.
