Doha, 23 March 2023 (TDI): Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, visited Qatar from March 19 to 20, 2023. During his tour, he met with the heads of Qatar’s biggest corporations and investment organizations.

He also met the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his stay in Qatar. Both parties stressed the importance of expanding the two nations’ economic partnership.

In addition, they also addressed opportunities for extending investment activity in diverse sectors such as energy, agriculture, textiles, and renewable energy sources.

Along these lines, they also emphasized the possibilities for increased cooperation and bilateral trade volume.

It is pertinent to note that Qatari business entities confirmed their willingness to participate in Turkmenistan’s economy and presented a number of specific ideas to deepen relationships in various industries.

They also stated their plan to visit Turkmenistan to familiarise themselves with the attractive investment climate and business circumstances.

Both parties also addressed ideas for collaborative work in banking, real estate, agriculture, industry, tourism, and the establishment of free economic zones.

The President’s visit was also highlighted by high-level meetings held in the Emir of Qatar’s palace, where both parties underscored the importance of mutual visits and high-level meetings.

In this vein, they also discussed several priority and potential areas of interstate relations.

Also, during the extended format talks, which included delegates from both nations, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed satisfaction with the favorable dynamics of the bilateral political conversation.

He highlighted the need for mutual visits and high-level meetings. The Emir of Qatar also underlined the National Leader of the Turkmen people’s significant personal contribution to the foundation and development of interstate relations.
