Islamabad (TDI): Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, İrfan Neziroğlu, on Friday reaffirmed his country’s support for strengthening educational ties with Pakistan, expressing interest in expanding cooperation through scholarships, joint academic programs and student exchange initiatives.
The envoy made the remarks during a meeting with Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad.
Both sides underscored their shared commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation in the education sector. They also discussed avenues for enhanced collaboration between educational institutions in Pakistan and Türkiye, according to an official statement.
Pakistan and Türkiye maintain close bilateral relations, underpinned by longstanding cultural, historical and people-to-people ties. Cooperation between the two countries spans multiple sectors, including defense, trade, education and cultural exchange.

Educational collaboration has been a key pillar of bilateral engagement, with hundreds of Pakistani students currently enrolled in Turkish universities under various scholarship programs. Academic exchanges and institutional partnerships have contributed to stronger links between universities in both countries.

Officials from both sides expressed confidence that expanded educational cooperation would help develop human capital, promote mutual understanding and support long-term partnership goals between Pakistan and Türkiye.
