Islamabad (TDI): Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, met with Mrs. Farzhana Naek, Chairperson of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), at PRCS National Headquarters, to discuss joint humanitarian cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu congratulated Mrs. Naek on assuming the charge of Chairperson PRCS.
He emphasized Pakistan and Türkiye’s shared cooperation in humanitarian endeavors while highlighting the traditionally close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration between Turkish Red Crescent and PRCS.

He also mentioned that Dr. Fatma Meriç Yilmaz, the President of the Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRCS), is the organization’s first female president, signifying both countries’ dedication to women’s leadership and development.
He reiterated his commitment to fostering stronger cooperation between the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and the Turkish Red Crescent Society and guaranteed continued collaboration on humanitarian projects between the two countries.
Furthermore, Ambassador Irfan expressed his strong desire to work with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society on initiatives about women’s empowerment, education, and capacity building.

As one of the top humanitarian groups in Pakistan, Pakistan Red Crescent Society is committed to offering prompt assistance during emergencies, she said.
In order to reach out to vulnerable populations throughout Pakistan, she underlined the significance of PRCS and TRCS working together.
Chairperson PRCS, Farzhana Naek expressed her appreciation for Turkish Red Crescent Society President, Dr. Fatma Mevriç Yilmaz.
She stated that she was looking forward to meeting with her in person or virtually soon to talk more about the areas where the two leading humanitarian organizations may work together.

In addition to signing the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Visitor’s Book, Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu gave a speech about the organization’s admirable humanitarian endeavors.
Before departure, the Turkish Ambassador reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the solid collaboration between TRCS and PRCS.
In 2023, the Head of the Delegation of the Turkish Red Crescent Society, Ergest Limka, met with the then Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari.
During the meeting, several areas of cooperation were discussed, such as supporting the PRCS Recovery programs in Sindh and Balochistan, which included providing livelihood to the people of Sindh and Balochistan, giving cash voucher assistance (CVA), nutrition, shelter, and migration programs.
