Turkish Envoy Meets PARC Chairman for Agri Collaboration

Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, İrfan Neziroğlu, on Saturday called on Chairman Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali at National Agricultural Research Centre in Islamabad.

The meeting focused on exploring new avenues for enhanced collaboration in the field of agriculture between the two friendly countries.

The discussions put a focus on research and innovation in agriculture.

Pakistan and Turkiye have exemplary cooperation in agriculture sector.

In December, both sides expressed commitment to enhancing trade in agricultural sector, which will help foster new opportunities for economic prosperity.

During a meeting with Turkish envoy, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, emphasized Pakistan’s determination to increase exports of high-quality agricultural products to Turkiye.

He said that Pakistan’s agricultural products are gaining recognition in the international market and that efforts are being made to further establish the country’s position, particularly in the Turkish market.

Rana Tanveer Hussain had briefed the envoy on ongoing projects, especially in the olive industry, where Pakistan is working on improving processing techniques and enhancing product quality.

He noted that considerable progress has been made in this regard and that both nations are working together to share expertise in the field.

The meeting also addressed the progress of a Joint Working Group formed to strengthen collaboration in agriculture and livestock sectors.
