Washington (TDI): President Donald Trump has said that he expects a US-coordinated International Stabilization Force (ISF) to deploy in Gaza “very soon,” as part of his administration’s plan to oversee post-war governance in the territory.

The proposed multinational force, likely to include contingents from Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, and other Muslim countries, forms the central component of Trump’s post-conflict blueprint for Gaza. The initiative reportedly played a key role in achieving the fragile October 10 ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, though the humanitarian crisis in the enclave remains dire. “It’s going to be very soon. And Gaza is working out very well,”

Trump said during a White House event with Central Asian leaders. “You haven’t been hearing too much about problems, and I’ll tell you, we’ve had countries that have volunteered if there’s a problem with Hamas.”

According to US officials, the force would focus on training and supporting vetted Palestinian police, with logistical and operational backing from Egypt and Jordan. It will also be tasked with securing Gaza’s borders and preventing weapons smuggling to Hamas.

On Wednesday, Washington circulated a draft UN Security Council resolution to partner nations seeking approval for the deployment of the ISF. US envoy to the United Nations Mike Waltz shared the draft with the 10 elected Security Council members, including Pakistan, as well as several regional partners. “It’s being discussed with the aim of stabilizing Gaza under a cooperative international framework,” the US mission said in a statement.

Senior Muslim diplomats noted that the issue remains highly sensitive, given strong pro-Palestinian sentiment in their respective countries. Many governments are wary of being seen as supporting a US-led initiative without explicit UN approval and coordination with Palestinian leadership.
