Netherland, 2nd September 2021 (TDI): The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Tom De Bruijn emphasized that all the Dutch and international Brands will sign the new Bangladesh Accord, which is a revolutionary agreement on the labor rights for the safety of factory workers.
The Bangladesh Accord is the first modern legally binding agreement between the workers of apparel companies, consortiums, and the factory management that binds them to comply with the worker rights and instructs companies to stop business with factories that cannot meet the needs.
The Minister acknowledged that Bangladesh Accord has extended a better working environment for textile workers and now acts as a policy standard for other countries.
The international community has shown great commitment to this important revolutionary cause, as 77 major clothing brands have already signed the agreement.
