Thailand at the 54th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Bangkok, 3 August 2021 (TDI): On 2 August 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Don Pramudwinai and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, along with the ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the Secretary-General of ASEAN attended the 54th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Second Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof chaired the meeting.
The urgent need for ASEAN to expedite the ASEAN Leaders’ 5-Point Consensus was pointed out and stressed its provision of Humanitarian Assistance to the people of Myanmar.
Occasionally, the Ministers also emphasized the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) about the rising tensions and uncertainties in the region with the call to action that ASEAN must strengthen its centrality of multilateralism and regionalism to promote peace and stability such as.
