Tariq Karim Exalts Growing Engagement between Hyderabad and Toledo

Chicago, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago announced a virtual meeting held on Wednesday to observe the 10th Anniversary of the Hyderabad-Toledo Sister-City Agreement. The Consul General Tariq Karim highly appreciated the growing engagement between Toledo and Hyderabad, following the agreement commenced in 2011.

The participants in the meeting included Toledo’s Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, the Administrator of Hyderabad, senior officials of the Sister-City Committee, and other stakeholders involved. During the session, Consul General Tariq Karim expressed contentment over growing engagement between the two cities, following the Sister-City Agreement that provided a framework for both sides to increase cooperation, especially in the fields of education, commerce, tourism, culture, and technology transfer.

The meeting identified Hyderabad as one of the major cities in Pakistan, constituting a strong industrial base, rich history, and culture, besides its proximity to port facilities. Consul General Tariq Karim further emphasized that one of his major goals is promoting economic diplomacy in the Midwest region, working with the City of Toledo and other Midwestern cities to enhance their diplomatic relationship.
