Doha, 01 September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas met the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Doha.
Mr. Heiko said that Germany is working with regional partners to find a workable solution to the Afghanistan issue. He has already visited Pakistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan before visiting Doha. In his four-day trip, he discussed the ongoing developments in Afghanistan. During his meeting in Doha, he mentioned that Germany will work at the Kabul Airport for providing protection to the German and local nationals. He also stated that Germany cannot avoid communicating with the Taliban regarding their policy in their country. It is a matter of human lives, and ultimately Taliban will be judged by their actions, not words.
