Budapest, 4 December 2021 (TDI): Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharaf Sheralizoda, had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Levente Magyar.
The meeting was on the sidelines of the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit, on 2 December. Tajikistan Deputy, Sheralizoda and Magyar exchanged views on the current state of Tajikistan-Hungary relations.
They also discussed the prospects to develop and strengthen their relations in the political, and economic spheres. Among those prospects, the deputies also include the water and energy, cultural and educational spheres.
Sheralizoda and Magyar also expressed their mutual interest to expand and strengthen Tajikistan and Hungary relations. That expansion would be in areas of mutual interest for both countries. The Deputies also stressed the importance of continuing cooperation within the regional and international organizations.
TAJIKISTAN-HUNGARY DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
Tajikistan and Hungary established diplomatic relations in 1992. The relations between both countries are based on friendship and mutual understanding. In 2011, both countries held their first political consultations, in Dushanbe.
During the visit of the Tajikistan President to Hungary, Emomali Rahmon, in 2011, both countries signed several documents. The first one was the Joint Communiqué of the Republic of Tajikistan with Hungary on further strengthening the bilateral relations.
The second document was the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of health between the Health Ministries of both countries. Then they signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
The last document was the Agreement between the Agriculture Ministries of both countries, in the field of rural development. Up to date, both countries have signed 8 bilateral agreements.
PLANET BUDAPEST 2021 SUSTAINABILITY EXPO
According to the Hungarian Embassy in Croatia, the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit, is the largest sustainability event in Central Europe. It started on 29 November and will end on 5 December.
The Hungarian President, János Áder, is the patron of Planet Budapest. According to the Hungarian Embassy in Croatia, Planet Budapest has two principal objectives. The first one is to raise awareness of adverse environmental, social, and economic practices, among the citizens.
The second objective is to show that these negative changes are still reversible, but also that they can overshadow the future of humankind. Planet Budapest will showcase exhibitors from the Visegrád Countries, which are Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
The members founded the Visegrád Group in 1991, in Hungary. Those exhibitors can promote sustainable development through their products, services, and technological developments.
