Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister attends session on UN Water Conference 2023

Dushanbe, 26 August 2021 (TDI): Sharaf Sheralizoda, Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, and Kitty van der Heijden, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Cooperation of Netherlands, attended a virtual session titled “Preparing for an Inclusive and Action-Oriented UN Water Conference 2023” as part of World Water Week 2021.

Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister discussed the goals and other concerns surrounding the preparations for the United Nations Water Conference in 2023. He stated that the next international conference on “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028” will be held in Dushanbe, 2022. Both parties emphasized the significance of comprehensive preparation for the UN Water Conference in 2023, as well as ongoing cooperation through international sectoral meetings, UN meetings, and other cooperation mechanisms.

In the end, both sides highlighted the plans for future cooperation.
