Lusaka, 20 September 2021 (TDI): Janine Alm Ericson, the Swedish State Secretary for International Development Cooperation, met with the newly elected Vice President of Zambia, Mutale Nalumango, to talk about the importance of democracy, anti-corruption, and long-term cooperation between Sweden and Zambia.
The focus of the meeting primarily remained on the importance of democracy and efforts made for ensuring strong democracy. Along with it, the Vice President and the State Secretary talked about the eradication of corruption from the state of Zambia.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the parties talked about long-term cooperation for human rights, gender equity, provision of healthcare, and, most importantly, climate change and environmental preservation.
The Vice President and the State Secretary agreed on cooperation to eradicate ills from the state of Zambia and work for a better future.
In the end, the Swedish State Minister and the Vice President of Zambia remembered and acknowledged the services of the second Secretary-General of the United Nations General Assembly and Swedish economist Dag Hammarskjold on his 60th death anniversary.
