Khartoum, 16 September 2021 (TDI): The Swedish Ambassador to Sudan, Signe Burgstaller, met with the Sudanese Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, Al-Tahir Harbi and his team to discuss the bilateral development cooperation between Sweden and the Republic of Sudan.
The focal point of the meeting initially remained on the sustainable agricultural productivity of the Republic of Sudan and the means and measures taken for the improvement of the agriculture sector of the country.
Along with it, the Swedish Ambassador inquired and discussed food security and solutions to combat it.
Moreover, the role of women in the development and growth of Sudan was also highlighted in the meeting.
Lastly, the impact and engagement of youth in agriculture and its benefits were also put forth.
The bilateral meeting ended on a happy note with commitment from the Swedish Embassy to support the government of Sudan to combat food insecurity and improve the agriculture sector with the increased role of youth.
The meeting was termed fruitful by the Swedish ambassador to Sudan, Signe Burgstaller.
