Islamabad, 27 January 2022 (TDI): Henrik Persson, the Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, called on Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Major General Amir Azeem Bajwa (R) today at the PTA Headquarters.

The agenda of the meeting between the two dignitaries was to deliberate upon investment opportunities for Swedish companies in the Information Communication Technologies (ICT) sector of Pakistan.

During the meeting, Major General Amir Azeem Bajwa appreciated the proactive engagement of the Ambassador of Sweden with stakeholders to facilitate investment and bilateral trade prospects.

In addition, Chairman PTA briefed Ambassador Henrik Persson about growth and innovation taking place in the telecom sector of Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “Digital Pakistan Vision” is instrumental in this regard.

Aside from that, both sides agreed to enhance collaboration between the ICT sector of Sweden and Pakistan. Pakistan highly values its bilateral relations with Sweden as an essential associate in the European Union (EU).

Moreover, it also connects the Asian Countries with potential markets of the European Union as well as other trade routes of the world. Aside from that, Gwadar also offers an enormous opportunity to the whole world including the EU countries as well as the Scandinavian region.

The port will potentially connect the EU and Scandinavian states with the entire region through the port to accomplish economic and trade targets. As a result, the economic collaboration will be boosted for mutual benefit.
