Islamabad (TDI): The Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the specialized technical training program for Sudanese engineers under the joint initiative of OIC-COMSTECH and the National University of Technology (NUTECH) was held at NUTECH.
Salih Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Siddig, Ambassador of Sudan to Pakistan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH, attended as guest of honor.
The ceremony was also attended by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Moazzam Ejaz, HI(M), Rector NUTECH, along with senior officials, academicians, and representatives of partner institutions.
During the ceremony, certificates were distributed among around 20 Sudanese engineers who completed the CAD/CAM/CNC Operations & Machine Building Course hosted at NUTECH.
The training program was sponsored and coordinated by COMSTECH as part of its mandate to strengthen technical capacity and promote South-South cooperation among OIC member states.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Iqbal emphasized that COMSTECH remains committed to promoting human resource development, applied research, and technology transfer across OIC countries.
He said that such training initiatives are designed to equip young professionals with industry-relevant skills and to foster long-term academic and technical collaboration among member states.
The guest of honor, Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Science and Technology, appreciated the COMSTECH–NUTECH joint training initiative.
He said that such collaborative programs play a vital role in strengthening capacity building, promoting scientific cooperation, and enhancing technical skills among professionals from OIC member states.
In his remarks, Rector NUTECH, highlighted the university’s focus on hands-on, practice-oriented education aligned with modern industrial needs.

He reaffirmed NUTECH’s commitment in partnership with OIC-COMSTECH to supporting international capacity-building programs and expressed confidence that the trained engineers would contribute effectively to industrial development in Sudan.
The intensive training provided participants with hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing technologies, including computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), CNC machine operations, and machine building techniques.
The engineers also gained practical experience on advanced industrial equipment such as CNC wood routers, drilling and tapping machines, welding units, aluminum cutting machines, tool grinders, and shaper machines under the supervision of NUTECH’s experienced faculty and technical experts.
In addition to academic training, the Prime Institute of Health Sciences facilitated the stay and welfare arrangements of the Sudanese engineers in Islamabad.
